Performance Verified
Performance verified by independent testing and fully certified under the BEAL Product Compliance Certificate.
NZ building code
PCC-2038-NZ. The NEXUS Optical Composite Panels comply with the relevant performance requirements of the NZ Building Code. Issued by BEAL (Building Element Assessment Laboratory Limited), renewed annually.
Impact Strength
Impact resistant glazing up to 40x stronger than standard glass at comparable thickness. Non-brittle failure — no sharp fragment formation on impact. Shape memory after impact.
Optical Clarity
Up to 93% light transmission. Distortion-free appearance. Long-term resistance to haze and yellowing.
Acoustic Performance
Effective noise attenuation through resin density limiting panel vibration. Acoustic glazing panels suitable for offices, apartments, healthcare and education facilities.
Thermal Performance
Reduced heat conduction. Reduced condensation formation. Defogging capability available. Energy efficient glazing solutions that improve overall building energy efficiency.
Weight Advantage
Lightweight glazing panels — approximately 50% lighter than equivalent glass panels. Reduces structural load and installation complexity.
Performance Across Every Dimension
Most glazing materials perform well in one or two areas. NexaGlaze™ was engineered to deliver across all the dimensions that matter to architects, specifiers and facility managers — without the trade-offs that come with traditional glass or polycarbonate alternatives.
Mechanical Strength
Impact resistant glazing up to 40x stronger than standard glass at comparable thickness. Elastic energy absorption means the panel flexes on impact rather than shattering. Safe for human-impact zones and high-traffic areas. Shatter resistant glazing, non-brittle failure prevents sharp fragment formation, a critical safety distinction.
Optical Performance
Light transmission up to 93%, clear, distortion-free appearance with long-term resistance to haze and yellowing. Suitable for architectural, safety and display applications where visual quality must be maintained over the building's service life.
Thermal and Acoustic Performance
Reduced heat conduction improves building thermal comfort and energy efficiency. Defogging capability available for wet or cold spaces. The resin density reduces sound transmission by limiting panel vibration, effective acoustic glazing panels performance suitable for offices, healthcare, education and residential environments.
Durability and Surface Performance
UV resistant glazing, resistant to common household, industrial and marine chemicals. Coated variants provide enhanced abrasion and scratch resistance appropriate for high-traffic and heavy-cleaning environments. UV-resistant formulation prevents long-term degradation.

BEAL Product Compliance Certificate — PCC-2038-NZ:
Confirms NexaGlaze™ Optical Composite Panels comply with the relevant performance requirements of the New Zealand Building Code. Issued by BEAL (Building Element Assessment Laboratory Limited). Renewed annually. Expires August 2026 — renewal in progress.
AS/NZS Safety Glazing Compliance:
Safety glazing compliance — NexaGlaze™ is designed and tested to meet AS/NZS safety glazing standards applicable to residential and commercial installations. Glazing compliance documentation available on request.
IK10/IK10+ (NexaLux™ — in progress):
NexaLux™ anti ligature lighting is pursuing IK10 lighting cover certification to IEC/EN 62262. This is the standard most relevant to correctional, behavioural health and public infrastructure applications. Contact us for current status.
LEED / BREEAM Compatible:
NexaGlaze™'s thermal performance, reduced weight (lower transport emissions), and extended service life are all relevant to green building assessment under LEED (US) and BREEAM (UK) frameworks. Lifecycle documentation available on request.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. NexaGlaze™ holds BEAL Product Compliance Certificate PCC-2038-NZ, confirming glazing compliance with the relevant performance requirements of the New Zealand Building Code. Architects and specifiers can request this documentation as part of a project glazing specification pack.
NexaGlaze™ is tested to up to 40x the impact strength of standard glass at comparable thickness. Unlike toughened glass, which shatters into fragments on failure, NexaGlaze™ is shatter resistant glazing — it absorbs energy and is highly resistant to fracturing or sharp fragmentation, significantly reducing injury risk on impact. See laminated glass vs composite glazing for a full comparison.
Yes. The compisite density in NexaGlaze™ reduces sound transmission by limiting panel vibration, delivering effective noise attenuation. Acoustic glazing panels are suitable for offices, apartments, healthcare facilities and education environments. Tested acoustic attenuation data is available on request from technical@nexaglaze.co.nz
The current BEAL Product Compliance Certificate (PCC-2038-NZ) expires August 2026. Renewal is in progress. For the most current glazing compliance certificate status, contact enquiries@nexusot.nz or request a copy directly from our technical team.
NexaGlaze™ reduces heat conduction, improving thermal comfort and reducing heating and cooling loads. For homeowners and commercial building managers seeking energy efficient glazing solutions, the combination of thermal performance and long service life makes a compelling whole-of-life case.
